Schoolgirls from Ufa and Sibay will represent the Republic at the "Ecology Without Borders" rally.
Representatives of Bashkiria will represent the region as part of the country's national team at the "Ecology Without Borders" rally of young ecologists from Russia and Belarus. They are Samira Valeeva, a student at the Children's Ecological and Biological Center in Sibay, and Ekaterina Russkikh, a student at Educational Center No. 35 in Ufa. They are among the 35 best schoolchildren in the country, selected from more than 200 contestants, the Republic's Ministry of Education reported.
Competition during the selection process was serious. First, the children took tests, then 35 finalists were selected from 151 applicants. The selection was carried out by category: young soil scientists, botanists, ornithologists, entomologists, and hydrobiologists.
The "Ecology Without Borders" rally will be held from July 6 to 11 at the "Smolenskoye Poozerye" National Park (Smolensk Region). It will be attended by 70 young ecologists from Russia and Belarus.
