Students of all Russian universities will be required to study four subjects
All students, regardless of their major, will study four mandatory disciplines: the Russian language, history, the foundations of Russian statehood, and philosophy.
The Russian language has been included in the unified socio-humanitarian core of higher education, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov announced at a meeting of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation. Now, all students, regardless of their major, will study four mandatory disciplines: the Russian language, history, the foundations of Russian statehood, and philosophy.
According to the head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, a unified approach will strengthen the country's educational space. In addition, an educational and methodological complex "Russian as a State Language" has already been developed for universities, with work commissioned by President Vladimir Putin.
