In Bashkiria, rural internet traffic has caught up with urban traffic

On average, rural residents download 22 gigabytes per month, with residents of remote settlements consuming the most internet.

12 settlements in nine districts of Bashkortostan received internet this year as part of the "Elimination of Digital Inequality" program of the "Data Economy" national project. These are villages and hamlets with a total of more than 3,000 residents in the Abzelilovsky, Belebeevsky, Blagoveshchensky, Burayevsky, Kaltasinsky, Mechetlinsky, Mishkinsky, Uchalinsky, and Sharansky districts. Some of them have fewer than 100 people, but for the most part, these are settlements with about 300 people, noted the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Mobile operators note that, in terms of internet consumption, rural areas are quickly catching up to cities, whereas in 2020," rural" traffic was almost half as much. The internet preferences of Bashkortostan residents were previously reported in greater detail.

The Ministry of Digital Development reported that the connected settlements include places popular with tourists, such as Davletshino with the Bursunsy and Atavdy lakes in the picturesque Abzelilovsky district.
