"Day of 1000 Cyclists" gathered 25 thousand people in Ufa

On May 31, the "Day of 1000 Cyclists" festival took place in Ufa to mark its 15th anniversary. The festival began at Lenin Square.

The event brought together more than 25,000 fans of cycling and an active lifestyle, turning the city into a venue for a large-scale sports festival, according to the mayor's office press service.

The participants were welcomed by Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Igor Ermilov, Head of the Department for Physical Culture and Sports of the Ufa Administration Egor Sorokin, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, Olympic short track champion Semyon Elistratov, Manager of the Alfa-Bank branch in the Republic of Bashkortostan Radik Akhmetshin, and Secretary of the Public Chamber of Ufa Erik Akhtyamov.

"The 'Day of 1000 Cyclists' has already become a good sports tradition for Ufa. It is symbolic that we are holding it on May 31, the birthday of cycling," noted Igor Ermilov, congratulating everyone present on the holiday and wishing them a good mood.

As part of the festival, cyclists covered a route, part of which was accompanied by a symphony orchestra. The finish line was located in the Fighters of the Revolution Square, where a cultural and entertainment program awaited guests: prize draws and the awarding of participants with the most original costumes.
