Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a decree updating forest fire safety rules. They will come into effect on September 1, 2026, and will remain in force until 2032.
As "Bashinform" learned after studying the document, it prescribes fire safety requirements based on the intended purpose of forest lands for legal entities, entrepreneurs, and organizations. These include rules for operations during logging, resin harvesting, recreational activities, peat extraction, the placement of roads and railways, and the construction of power lines and pipelines.
Separate requirements are stipulated for citizens: immediately report a fire by calling 112, take appropriate measures to extinguish it, and notify authorities of instances of arson and forest littering.
