Ufa to experience longest days of year
The sun will shine for more than 17 hours.
According to the Ufa City Planetarium, the summer solstice period is approaching. From June 19 to June 24, the length of the daylight hours will be a record 17 hours and 14 minutes. This is 10 hours and 6 minutes longer than on the shortest day of the year, December 22, when the sun shines over Ufa for only 7 hours and 8 minutes.
After June 24, the days will begin to shorten little by little. Starting on June 25, daylight hours will decrease by approximately 1 to 2 minutes per day, and by the end of the month, they will be 4 minutes shorter.
The sun reaches its maximum midday altitude on June 21. It is on this day that it is at its highest point above the horizon.
