Rospotrebnadzor to send specialists to Uganda to fight Ebola
Rospotrebnadzor specialists, at the request of the Ugandan side, are heading to Kampala to conduct an epidemiological investigation into the Ebola fever outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo orthoebolavirus, the agency reports.
The agency will also provide logistical support to the Ugandan Ministry of Health. Domestic diagnostic test systems will be transferred to Kampala, the capital of this East African country.
The assistance is being provided within the framework of long-term cooperation. In 2024, Russia already handed over a mobile anti-epidemic laboratory to Uganda. This complex was used by services to contain the previous Ebola epidemic in 2025. In addition, Russian scientists have trained more than 80 Ugandan specialists in methods of biological safety, disinfection, and laboratory diagnostics.
