Leaving car keys in a place accessible to children can lead not only to administrative, but also to criminal liability if an accident occurs.
State traffic inspectors have once again detained a minor driving a vehicle. This time, the patrol officers' attention was drawn to a Hyundai Elantra moving along Alexander Spivak Street in the village of Maksimovka.
After stopping the car, the inspectors discovered a teenager behind the wheel who had neither a driver's license nor sufficient driving skills. The boy's mother was called to the scene. In her presence, the young man was removed from the vehicle, and the vehicle was impounded in a special parking lot.
Now the mother will have to explain herself to the Juvenile Affairs Commission. An investigation has been initiated against her under Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, "failure of parents to fulfill their duties regarding the maintenance and upbringing of minors."
