72 more linden trees to be planted in center of Ufa
Near Ufa Gymnasium No. 1 on Mustay Karim Street, 72 linden trees will be planted. The young trees will replace the old maples that were removed over the weekend.
Recall that this is part of the planned work to green the city. When ash-leaved maples were planted en masse in Ufa in the 50s and 60s, there was no understanding of how aggressive this subspecies would become. At that time, the American maple was chosen along with the poplar for its fast growth and excellent survival rate. Now it has become clear that poplars produce one of the strongest allergens, and maples have conquered all available spaces, while displacing other trees.
