Residents of Bashkiria warned about fake mailing
Scammers are sending out SMS messages about a heating refund.
As explained by the press service of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the perpetrators pose as management organizations (MOs) and send messages to owners, offering to refund an overpayment for heating. They specify the refund amount and urge them to follow a link to transfer funds.
How to protect yourself from scammers:
- Remember that management and utility companies never issue direct refunds; they deduct the recalculated amount from subsequent payments.
- If you are unsure, please contact the management company via Gosuslugi Dom or your personal account on the management company's website.
- Do not share your personal information or SMS codes with anyone, and do not click on suspicious links.
- Elderly relatives should be especially careful—be sure to warn them about this scheme. Trust only official communication channels.
