Residents of Bashkortostan will be able to see Jupiter next to Moon
The celestial phenomenon will occur on the evening of April 22.
At nightfall, a very bright "star" is currently visible in the west, high above the horizon — this is Jupiter; it is brighter than all other stars.
According to the Ufa City Planetarium, on the evening of April 22, Jupiter will be visible to the left of the Moon. The Moon, in a phase close to the first quarter, will look like a crescent. 34% of the lunar disk will be illuminated by the Sun. The celestial bodies will meet in the constellation Gemini and will be visible until three o'clock in the morning. They will set below the northwest horizon almost simultaneously.
Before setting, the Moon will move even closer to Jupiter, and the following evening, having traveled 13 degrees across the sky, it will move away from Jupiter and will be visible higher and to its left.
