A mother bear with two yearling cubs emerged from her den in the "Bashkiria" national park. A photo was published on social media.
As national park employees explained, yearling cubs often stay with their mother after the first hibernation. She continues to protect them, teaches them to look for food, recognize danger, and feel confident in the forest. Their independent life depends on these skills.
Usually, the young ones stay with their mother until approximately one and a half years old, and sometimes even longer — up to the next mating season. Only then does the family gradually break up, and the young bears begin to live independently.
