Russian cancer vaccines included in CHI policy

Tatyana Aksyutina

Now, innovative methods of treating oncological diseases will become available to Russians within the framework of compulsory health insurance.

A decree of the government of the Russian Federation has amended the state guarantee program, according to the press service of the federal cabinet of ministers.

Now modern methods of oncology treatment — Russian cancer vaccines and CAR-T cell therapy — will be available to patients free of charge under the CHI policy.

The drug is created individually for each patient to "teach" the immune system to fight the tumor. New methods will be used for certain blood diseases and cancer of internal organs. Only federal clinics can provide these medical services, clarifies "Medvestnik".
