Yesterday on the Syun River in the Ilishevsky District, blasters and rescuers conducted the last preventive ice blasting of the season. This was the final action in a series of works aimed at preventing floods.
Specialists weakened the ice in two places so that water could flow freely. Previously, blasting took place on the Urshak, Inzer, Ai, and Yuryuzan rivers. The main goal is to prevent ice jams and protect settlements from flooding.
Military personnel and rescuers remain on full alert. If a threat of ice jam formation arises somewhere, they will immediately conduct additional blasting, the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Emergency Situations reported.
