In the "Bashkiria" National Park in the protected village of Irgizly, beekeepers took hives out of winter storage a week earlier this year.
Specialists note that all bee colonies successfully survived the winter. The condition of the colonies is assessed by the bees' first spring cleansing flight. If a colony is strong, the flight will be simultaneous. Such colonies winter better, get sick less often, and produce more honey — they are the beekeeper's main hope.
Now, a series of spring tasks must be carried out at the apiaries: cleaning the hives, replacing frames, insulating the nests, and replenishing food supplies.
