Across the roads of the republic, 56 intoxicated drivers were detained over a 24-hour period; three of them had gotten behind the wheel drunk for a second time.
In total, state traffic inspectors identified more than 1,400 traffic violations during the day. Most frequently, motorists neglected to properly restrain children (46 instances), drove into oncoming lanes (33 instances), or pedestrians crossed the road in prohibited areas (26 instances).
The results of the mass raids were summarized by the republic's chief traffic inspector, Vladimir Sevastyanov. He also reminded that the "Pedestrian" operation will continue in the region until April 6.
