Major flare occurred on Sun toward Earth
Presumably, the mass will reach the planet by midday Wednesday.
A powerful plasma ejection is moving toward Earth, according to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy. During the flare, a medium-sized prominence located near the epicenter was also destroyed and ejected into space, further increasing the mass of the expelled gas. Information regarding the speed of this cloud is currently unavailable, but telescope footage shows the ejection appears fast and is expected to reach the planet by midday Wednesday.
