Driving in fog is dangerous even for experienced motorists. Due to poor visibility, objects appear further away, and speed seems lower—in reality, it is exactly the opposite. It becomes difficult for a driver to orient themselves in space, which can lead to an accident, Sevastyanov noted.
"Ideally, one should wait out such weather. But if the trip cannot be postponed, I ask you to observe the speed limit, maintain a safe distance, and keep the required interval, and to drive with the lights on, including fog lights. Do not allow thoughtless overtaking or passing maneuvers," advised the Chief State Traffic Inspector of Bashkortostan.
In turn, pedestrians are recommended to cross the roadway only in designated areas and to wear reflective elements.
