More than 9,000 citizens from 50 countries around the world are studying in the republic.
In 2025, Bashkortostan ranked 7th among Russian regions by the number of enrolled international students. This was reported at an operational government meeting on Monday by the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan's State Committee for Science and Higher Education, Svetlana Mustafina. In total, according to her, more than 9,000 citizens from 50 countries are studying in the republic, which accounts for 9% of the total number of students.
Double-degree programs with universities in China, Vietnam, and the CIS countries play a significant role in attracting foreign students. The opening of the Center for Chinese Language and Culture has served as an additional incentive, she noted.
