In February, the water volume of most rivers in the region reached 150%–290% of the norm, with some sections being nearly five times higher. Snow reserves range from 84% to 198%, except in the mining zone, where figures are close to the long-term averages.
In the absence of weather anomalies this spring, the water level at the peak of the flood could be nearly a meter above the norm. Areas at risk include the Uy River basin, small rivers in the mining zone, and the region's south. Potential ice jams may also trigger a sharp rise in water levels.
