Residents of Bashkortostan will be able to observe conjunction of Saturn and Neptune

Tatyana Aksyutina

On February 16 at 08:38 Ufa time, Saturn and Neptune will meet in the constellation Pisces. However, they will not be visible at that moment as they will be below the horizon. The planets can be observed in the evening.

According to the Ufa City Planetarium, after nightfall, the planets will be visible low above the southwestern horizon. Saturn will be visible to the naked eye as the brightest "star" in that part of the sky. However, it should not be confused with the brighter Mercury, which will be seen right near the horizon. To observe Neptune, binoculars or a telescope will be required.

The planets will be visible only briefly; by around 9:30 p.m., they will set below the horizon.
