Visitors to the park are asked not to approach the birds closely.
In Bashkiria National Park, two species of these graceful creatures are wintering: the white adult mute swan and the grayish young whooper swan.
To tell them apart, look at the beak: the mute swan has a beak with more red or orange and a knob at the base; the young whooper swan currently has a "transitional" beak color, which will turn yellow and black by summer.
"If you see swans on the Belaya River, do not approach them closely, do not scare them, and try to take photos from a distance," the national park authorities advised.
