In Russia, a solar eclipse, the peak of the Perseids meteor shower, and a rare six-planet parade are expected on August 12.
The main astronomical event of 2026 will take place on August 12, when, before dawn, a true parade of planets will occur: Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune will gather in one area of the sky.
On the same day, a rare total solar eclipse will occur, with partial visibility even in northern Russia. In the evening of that day, it will be possible to observe a spectacular sight — the peak of the Perseids meteor shower, the state corporation reported.
