A stream of fast solar wind from a coronal hole has reached Earth, according to the Space Research Institute (SRI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. There have been no sharp geomagnetic impulses; geomagnetic indices are currently in the green zone, but this may change in the near future.
Plasma parameters arriving from orbit appear favorable for the development of auroras. The likelihood of observing this phenomenon in mid-latitudes is minimal. Furthermore, central Russia is obscured by clouds, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the SRI of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
