Bashkortostan has appointed person responsible for scientific and technological development.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Alexander Sheldyaev, will oversee scientific and technological development and intellectual property development in the republic.

Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkortostan, signed the order appointing the responsible official.

The decision was made as part of the implementation of the Russian scientific and technological development strategy approved by President Vladimir Putin, as well as a resolution of the Federation Council.

By 2026, the goal is to improve the republic's performance in the National Ranking of Scientific and Technological Development. To achieve this goal, a new science governance model will be implemented, in which the republic will act as a qualified customer, focusing on strategic priorities.
