Saturn, appearing as a bright star, can be seen in the evening after nightfall in the southwest, low above the horizon in the constellation Pisces. There are no other bright stars nearby, making it easy to spot in this part of the sky.
"To be sure that you are observing Saturn, look at the sky on the evening of January 23, weather permitting: Saturn will be positioned directly below the crescent of the young Moon," specialists at the Ufa City Planetarium advised.
Both celestial bodies will be located in the constellation Pisces and will set below the horizon before midnight: Saturn at 10:48 p.m., with the Moon following 20 minutes later.
Another planet near the Moon, Neptune, cannot be seen with the naked eye. With an apparent magnitude of +7.9, Neptune is observable only through binoculars or a telescope.
