Two strong solar flares were recorded

Two M-class solar flares — the second-highest power category — were recorded on the Sun on the night of January 12, TASS reported, citing the Institute of Applied Geophysics.

One of the flares is currently the strongest recorded in 2026. It occurred on the far side of the Sun.
