Online services to be banned from automatically charging subscription fees
The ban will take effect on March 1.
"Starting March 1, a measure aimed at preventing the imposition of subscriptions on consumers will come into force — our amendments designed to protect citizens' rights when signing up for digital subscriptions and other services with recurring payments," the State Duma said.
The adopted law prohibits companies from using previously saved card or bank account details without the user's explicit consent.
