The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Legislative Assembly is considering the possibility of restoring the bison population. This large-scale project is planned to last until 2034. Permits are required, as the animals are listed in the Red Book. Land preparation and the necessary regulations must also be adopted.
Possible sites being considered include the Lukoyanovsky, Pochinkovsky, Semenovsky, and Gorodetsky districts, as well as areas bordering the Vladimir Region, reports pravda-nn.ru.
The first stage is planned to address legal and organizational issues. Legislators will carry out this work in conjunction with the regional government and experts.
