Russia has clarified the periods of time that do not count toward military service. President Vladimir Putin signed the law.
According to the document, the law stipulates that periods of unauthorized absence from a military unit by a conscript, or absences from duty without a valid excuse for more than two days, will not be counted toward military service time.
This also applies to the absence of a contract soldier from a military unit without a valid excuse for more than 2 days.
Furthermore, the law clarifies the grounds under which citizens expelled from military academies and military departments are entitled to reimbursement of federal budget funds spent on their military or special training.
