The main results of the lean projects were a 20% reduction in wait times for doctor's appointments and a 20% reduction in ambulance response times. Public satisfaction with the quality of medical care increased from 42.5% in 2022 to 60.6% in 2024. This was announced by Bashkortostan's Minister of Health, Airat Rakhmatullin, at a government briefing.
Lean Manufacturing principles were introduced in the republic in 2019 as part of the national project "Healthcare" and the project "New Model for Organizing Medical Care." A total of 1,565 process improvement projects have been implemented over five years. Starting in 2025, this work will continue as part of the new national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" and the federal project "Labor Productivity." This year, the work is being carried out not only in outpatient clinics but also in hospitals and dental clinics, the minister said.
