ARIs and Hong Kong flu are spreading in Bashkortostan

Tatyana Aksyutina

Bashkortostan is experiencing a seasonal increase in respiratory infections and influenza. According to Rospotrebnadzor, non-influenza respiratory viruses are circulating more actively than others. Among influenza viruses, the so-called Hong Kong flu (H3N2 subtype A virus) is the most prevalent and is expected to remain dominant. The incidence rate is comparable to the same period last year.

The supervisory agency reiterated that vaccination remains an effective means of preventing influenza.
