Bashkortostan residents may see aurora borealis again

Strong magnetic storms are forecast for December 9-10.

Intense magnetic storms (magnitude 7-6) with a high probability of aurora borealis are forecast for Tuesday-Wednesday of December 9-10. The Solar Astronomy Laboratory has warned that a plasma ejection will reach Earth following a flare last night. The flare was moderate in strength, but occurred directly on the Sun-Earth line, so its effect will be maximum. Aurora borealis is also expected, provided cloud cover does not obscure the view. Geomagnetic disturbances are expected to last until Thursday.
Residents of Bashkortostan last admired the northern lights a month ago.
