December 1 is marked in Bashkiria as Industrial Workers' Day.

"This day unites hundreds of thousands of specialists across various industrial sectors," wrote Aleksandr Sheldyaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovation of the Republic, on social media. "The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the most powerful industrial centers in the country, and for certain types of industrial products, the largest producer in Russia. The leading industries include chemistry and petrochemistry, electric power, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and light industry."
