The mortality rate in Bashkortostan has decreased by 15% over the past five years, according to a report from the regional Ministry of Health. The overall mortality rate was 12.6 per 1,000 people—lower than the Volga Federal District average (13.6), but slightly higher than the Russian average (12.5).
The highest rates were found in ten municipalities: Miyakinsky and Bizhbulyaksky districts with a rate of 19.6, as well as Aurgazinsky (19.5), Baltachevsky (19.1), Buraevsky (19), Gafuriysky (18.8), Yermekeyevsky (18.6), Sterlibashevsky (18.4), Kugarchinsky (18.3), and Arkhangelsky (18.2) districts. The lowest mortality rate was recorded in the Ufa district—9.1, followed by Ufa (10), Oktyabrsky (10.5), Neftekamsk (10.5), Sterlitamak (10.7), Burzyansky (11.1), Iglinsky (12.3) districts, and the city of Salavat (12.4).
