And there will be no magnetic storms on Earth for a long time. But this is not certain.
The Sun may also enter a "winter" parallel to Earth's—the coming period may become very quiet after the volley of the last powerful flares, according to specialists at the Solar Astronomy Laboratory.
The "culprit" of the recent geomagnetic events was region 4274, which surprised scientists not only with its power but also with its final "hello," arriving from an unrealistic angle of 60 degrees. It shouldn't become too strong, scientists predict.
Unless some unexpected events replace the exhausted active region, the Earth's geomagnetic field will experience a long-awaited dead season, according to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory.
