Rescuers reminded "thin ice" rules in Bashkortostan
At what thickness is it safe to go out on the ice?
Bashkortostan rescuers are preparing for preventative patrols on bodies of water. The first significant night frosts are predicted in the coming days. Soon, bodies of water will begin to be covered with a fragile crust of ice, which is very dangerous.
Emergency services remind that it is safe to go out on the ice when it reaches a thickness of at least 10 cm.
Avoid going out on the ice when it is dark or when visibility is poor, such as during fog or snowfall. Children should learn these simple rules.
