Roscosmos is organizing flight to observe meteor shower
The Geminid meteor shower will occur on December 14.
Russia will host the first-ever flight to observe the Geminid meteor shower. The peak of the phenomenon, with up to 150 meteorites falling per hour, will take place on the night of December 14. Roscosmos announced this. Passengers will be able to observe the meteor shower from an altitude of 10,000 meters. The plane will be heading toward the Arctic Circle, so passengers will potentially also have the opportunity to see the northern lights.
A flight to observe the lunar eclipse took place on September 7.
