Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, summarizing the results of today's meeting of the UNESCO Affairs Committee, emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to grant international status to sites located in the republic.
"First and foremost, it's about providing additional protection for these locations. This is not an easy task, but it's one we must accomplish. Secondly, increasing the visibility of our sites is crucial for developing tourism," said Radiy Khabirov. "In a time when the collective West is opposing our country, we continue to successfully cooperate with the scientific community that shares universal human values. UNESCO remains an important platform for such collaboration."
The head of the region added that Bashkortostan will continue work on developing a tourism cluster that will unite the Voskresensky Copper Smelting Plant and the historical monuments of the village of Verkhotorye in the Ishimbay District.
"These sites are excellent destinations for both residents and visitors of the republic. They will help create an attractive tourist route," said Radiy Khabirov. "We will prepare a rich event program dedicated to the industrial heritage of this area. We also plan to hold a themed festival there, inviting our local artisans to take part in it."
At the end of the meeting, the Head of Bashkortostan thanked the participants for a substantive discussion and presented state awards of the republic.
On the grounds of the future Eurasian Museum of Nomadic Civilizations, Radiy Khabirov also inspected a new pedestrian trail at the visitor center that connects the Mausoleum of Tura Khan with Maly Keshenе—another historical monument within the tourist site.
