The Head of Bashkiria made this statement during the live Q&A.
During the session, artisans from the Miyakinsky District asked the regional leader to support producers of traditional Bashkir woven rugs. These artisans carefully preserve the secrets of this ancient craft and suggest sharing their experience through republican educational programs.
“Today, in me, you have a partner. I will personally promote Miyakinsky rugs through creative industry programs or other tourism projects. I've already asked my wife to buy a couple of these rugs for our home,” said Radiy Khabirov.
The head of the republic also added that he has already developed a personal tourism program for the Miyakinsky District. It includes climbing Mount Narystau, visiting the monument to the heroic horse in Ilchigulovo, exploring the renovated park by the lake in the village of Kirgiz-Miyaki, and visiting the Miyakinsky fish company.
Radiy Khabirov also noted that whereas in the past folk crafts were practiced by a small group of enthusiasts, they are now becoming a full-fledged industry, contributing profitably to the regional economy.
