Salavat Yulaev head coach receives award

Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Kozlov received the Order of Salavat Yulaev today at a ceremony dedicated to National Unity Day. The award was presented to him by Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkortostan.

Kozlov expressed gratitude to the Head of the Republic for his support of the team.

"Thank you for your continued support of the team. The fans also deserve gratitude; they always fill the stands, despite difficult times, and actively support us," Kozlov said.

Kozlov joined the Ufa team back in 2009. The Yulaev captain played on the all-star team in 2010/2011 and was the first to lift the Gagarin Cup. Since then, the Ufa club has become a home for Kozlov; it was here that he experienced the most successful period of his career and became a star of Russian hockey.

Last season, Salavat Yulaev, under the leadership of Viktor Kozlov, won bronze at the Gagarin Cup.

Today, Salavat Yulaev will play its second home game against Admiral. The Ufa team, after four straight wins, is in 9th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
