Free Wi-Fi for parking payments has been launched in central Ufa.
The Ufa Administration's Department of Transport and Communications, in collaboration with the Ufanet provider, has implemented a pilot project designed to enhance the convenience of paid parking users. Ufa residents can now pay for parking sessions through the Gorparkovka app and the parking02.ru website, even with limited mobile data.
A Wi-Fi hotspot called "Parkovka_02" was installed at a smart stop near the Bashkortostan State Cultural Center. The signal covers approximately 400-500 meters along Lenin Street, encompassing the paid parking area.
This pilot project will run until November 1, 2023. Based on an analysis of demand and user feedback, authorities will decide whether to expand the free Wi-Fi network to all paid parking areas in Ufa, according to the Department of Transport and Communications.
