Northern lights lighted up sky over Bashkortostan
Last night, the northern lights could be observed in the sky over Bashkortostan. Those who were lucky enough to witness this rare phenomenon in these latitudes shared photos and videos on social media.
According to comments, residents of Sverdlovsk, Leningrad, and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as Tatarstan, Komi, and other areas, also saw the same beauty.
The northern lights in Bashkortostan are the result of the most significant solar flare in the last three months. In addition, a G1-level geomagnetic storm is currently underway on Earth.
At the same time, the intensity of the aurora may increase in the coming days, noted the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
