In Republic of Bashkortostan, rescuers reminded citizens how to use heaters

In autumn, when heating is not available, it may be necessary to turn on heaters. Unfortunately, these devices are often cited as the cause of fires in emergency reports. As explained by the State Committee for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Bashkortostan, there are several rules for using heaters:

• The device must operate at a distance of at least 1 meter from flammable objects: furniture, curtains, and bedding.

• It is not a dryer. Clothes must not be dried on it.

• Only a functional device may be used.

• Avoid using extension cords.

• A turned-on heater must not be left unattended, especially near children and pets.

• The device must be turned off at night and when leaving the house.
