Bashkiria to celebrate Salavat Yulaev's Memorial Day
225 years have passed since the fiery heart of the hero stopped beating on the distant and cold shores of the Baltic. His name became legendary. Under his banners, all the peoples of the Urals stood shoulder to shoulder to defend their homeland, and now our soldiers fight under his proud name.
On September 26, Bashkortostan will celebrate the Memorial Day of the national hero of the Bashkir people, Salavat Yulaev. The Telegram channel of the Yangan-Tau Geopark reported this.
A cenotaph (symbolic tombstone) was erected in the small homeland of the national hero in the village of Tekeyevo in the Salavat district. The descendants of the glorious batyr delivered a capsule with earth from the shores of the Baltic, where Salavat and his father Yulai spent the last years of their lives in eternal confinement.
To perpetuate the names of the heroes and to give their great sons a sacred place in their homeland, it was decided to lay the earth in a cenotaph, thereby symbolically returning the heroes to their homeland. All those who wish, in whose hearts the name of Salavat evokes deep respect and pride in the exploits of their ancestors, are invited to take part in the solemn ceremony on September 26 at 11:00.
