According to data from the global network of observation stations, planetary-scale magnetic storms have officially begun on Earth. In the coming hours, the geomagnetic index is almost certain to rise, as some stations are already reporting storms at G2–G3 levels.
According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory, the main auroral zone will form over Scandinavian countries and Canada. Over Russian territory, the auroral oval has not yet reached sufficient intensity, although isolated sightings in the northwest of the country are still possible.
