Ufa Residents Will Be Able to Witness a Total Lunar Eclipse
The next such event will not occur until December 31, 2028.
On the night of the full moon, September 7, the Moon will disappear into Earth's shadow for 1 hour and 23 minutes. According to the Ufa Planetarium, the celestial event will begin at 21:26 Ufa time and end on September 8 at 00:56.
The Moon will enter Earth's umbra completely at 22:30 and will remain in full eclipse for 83 minutes. This rare astronomical event will be visible across the entire night side of the Earth simultaneously.
It's essential to note that a lunar eclipse doesn't mean the Moon disappears from view; it remains visible but changes color to a dim, brownish-red hue.
Total lunar eclipses are relatively rare. The next one will only occur in just over three years - on New Year's Eve 2028–2029.
