Roscosmos announced the launch of a special Astro Night flight on September 7 to observe the lunar eclipse. A pleasant bonus is the opportunity to see the northern lights.
The project's board will take off from Moscow and head for the Arctic Circle. The flight will last approximately four hours, featuring commentary from astronomers and cosmonauts.
Recall that the lunar eclipse will occur on September 7 from 18.28 to 23.55 Moscow time. The Moon will be entirely hidden by the Earth's shadow from 20.31 to 21.53 Moscow time.
Residents of Bashkiria did not see the previous lunar eclipse in March of this year - it occurred below the horizon.
