Grades 5–7 will begin studying using new history textbooks from September 1

According to him, the transition to the new state line of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation is determined in two years. The introduction of textbooks for grades 8–9 is planned for the 2026–2027 academic year.

 "At the same time, all textbooks are included in the Federal List of Textbooks, and if desired, schools or a specific region can switch to the entire line this year," TASS quotes Vladislav Kononov as saying.

He recalled that the study of history begins in the 5th grade with the history of the Ancient World. From the 6th grade, schoolchildren move on to the consistent research of General History and the History of Russia.

All textbooks have a special section "For Teachers and Students," and a new section "We Recommend Visiting" has appeared with links to the websites of Russian museums.
