Bashkiria leader in applications for Umnik innovation competition
In 2025, 158 applications were received from the republic, and this is the second result in the country, said the Prime Minister of Bashkiria, Andrey Nazarov.
"Our smart guys demonstrate a serious level of training and a relevant agenda. Many projects are related to import substitution and import advancement. These are, in particular, digital technologies, new devices and intelligent production technologies, new materials and chemical technologies, as well as biotechnology. Moreover, these are specific solutions that are born here and now, in universities, laboratories of the Interuniversity Campus of Ufa, and startups. This is why our ideas are reaching the final. Since 2007, more than 350 young innovators from Bashkortostan have won the competition," he wrote on his social networks.
Andrey Nazarov believes that participation in the competition is an excellent chance for young people. The winners are entitled to a grant of 500,000 rubles for research and product development.
The winners mustn't just receive money for development, but go through a real school of technological entrepreneurship: they work with experts, mentoring teams, and investors, learn to form a team and protect a project.
